Paella pan

The paella pan, or "paellera", is recognisable by its wide, shallow shape and two handles. Its low sides encourage evaporation and the formation of the socarrat, the thin golden crust of rice at the bottom of the dish. Our Paella pan section offers models in various diameters, made to serve everything from family meals to large gatherings. This section belongs to the Frying pan range within the Cookware department.

Choosing your paella pan

Which diameter for how many guests?

Choose the diameter according to the number of servings: the larger the paella, the thinner and more even the rice layer should be. A slightly wider pan is better than one too small, which would leave the rice too thick and cook it unevenly. For other cooking formats, also browse the > 30 cm frying pan options.

Which heat source and what care?

Depending on the material, check compatibility with your hob or paella burner; for induction, see the Induction frying pan options. Steel models need careful drying after washing to prevent rust. This section features references from Lacor and Paderno.
