Choosing the right one

With or without handles?

Handles protect the hands when serving hot preparations and make it easier to eat with a spoon or straight from the bowl. A handle-free model is possible for more versatile use, but the classic consommé bowl prioritises comfort with broths served piping hot.

Which material to choose?

Porcelain and stoneware offer good heat retention and a gradual rise in temperature, well suited to consommés. For hospitality use, check resistance to the professional dishwasher and to repeated service.
