Lids and jar seals

The Lids and jar seals section includes the spare parts and closure accessories essential to food preservation: lids, caps, discs and rubber seals. These parts ensure the airtight sealing of jars for canning, jams and homemade preparations, and help extend the life of your containers by replacing a worn seal rather than the whole jar. This page belongs to the Food-storage containers section, within the Kitchenware range.

Choosing the right lids and jar seals

How do you find the correct size?

Lids and seals are chosen according to the jar's opening diameter and closure system (screw-top, mechanical clip). Check compatibility with the brand and model of your jar to help ensure an airtight seal.

When should you replace a seal?

A rubber seal should be replaced as soon as it hardens, cracks or no longer leaves the imprint of the glass, all signs of compromised sealing. A new seal for every sterilisation is recommended for long-term preserves, to ensure the food safety of your preparations.

The Lids and jar seals section features references from Le Parfait and Bormioli Rocco. For the matching containers, see the Mason jar page or return to Food-storage containers.
