Bormioli Rocco

Brand distributed by AZ boutique ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4,7/5

Welcome to our Bormioli Rocco boutique, an Italian glassmaker founded in 1825 in Fidenza, near Parma, by Luigi Bormioli who arrived from Altare with the family glassmaking heritage. In 1854, after acquiring the "Royal Majolica and Glass Factory" of Parma, the company became "Vetreria Fratelli Bormioli Rocco e Figlio". Today Bormioli Rocco is Italy's leading glassmaker and one of the world's major suppliers of tableware and food-storage glass, present in more than 100 countries with nine factories and over 2,500 employees.

Bormioli Rocco's expertise

Choosing your Bormioli Rocco glassware

What sets Bormioli Rocco glass apart?

Bormioli Rocco has developed its own glass formulations since 1825, with dedicated grades: Star Glass (high-resistance glass for restaurant tables), Parison (soda-lime glass for storage), borosilicate (for cooking). This vertical control of glass — from sand to finished piece — explains the consistent quality recognised by restaurateurs and consumers worldwide.

What is a Fido jar and what is it used for?

The Fido jar is the Bormioli Rocco icon since the late 19th century: glass lid, orange food-grade rubber seal, metal closure clamp. It is used for home preserving (vegetables, jams, terrines, fermentations) with perfect airtightness. The seal is replaceable and the closure can withstand sterilisation at 100 °C.

What's the difference between Frigoverre and standard plastic storage?

Frigoverre is a range of glass food-storage containers, with lids depending on the model, compatible with fridge, freezer, microwave or oven according to the product sheet. Unlike food-grade plastic, glass does not retain odours or staining and is easy to clean in the dishwasher.

Which Fido jar size should I choose for each preserve?

The Fido jar comes in sizes from small formats (125-250 ml) for jams, pestos and condiments to large volumes (1.5 to 5 L) for seasonal preserves, pickled vegetables or fermentations. For an opened jam used daily, a 500-750 ml is comfortable; for sterilised preserves kept on the shelf, choose the size matching one portion consumed in one go after opening. Always leave headspace at the top of the jar to allow for thermal expansion during sterilisation.
