Choosing your flat plate
Which material for which use?
Tempered glass, offered by Arcoroc and Chef & Sommelier, resists impacts and suits intensive use. Porcelain, such as Pillivuyt or Guy Degrenne, combines strength with a white that holds over time. Sarreguemines earthenware or the decorative models from Cosy & Trendy dress a more personalised table.
Which diameter for which service?
For the main course, a diameter of 26 to 28 cm is common. Beyond that, we speak of a presentation plate. In catering, check stackability and dishwasher compatibility to optimise storage and cleaning.
Which shape should you choose?
The round shape remains the most versatile and the easiest to complete. Square, rectangular and oval shapes bring character to plating and are often reserved for more elaborate service.
How to complete the service?
The flat plate goes well with a soup plate, a dessert plate and a bread plate from the same range for a consistent set. To build that service around a single collection, the Modulo range is the best-selling in the section, ahead of Elegance, Sancerre, Laguna Viola and Paris.
