Designed to preserve homemade jams for a long time, a jam jar or jam dish with hermetically sealed lids is a practical small container for your delicious jams. Available in different shapes and sizes, you will have the choice between round jars, faceted jars or even jars with a more modern design to store your preparations. You can use these mason jars for a long time, because they are not easily damaged. These small glass jars also allow you to store other preparations such as: compotes, candied fruit, chutney, coulis, jellies or fruit in syrup. The jam jar can also be used as cookie jars, spice jars, or candy jar. When people talk about jam jars, the famous brand Le Parfait comes to mind immediately! Le Parfait is a manufacturer that is specialised in the manufacturing of canning jars, glass bottles, caps, airtight, gasket, lids and self-adhesive labels for many years.

Jam dish: Do not wait for the perfect season anymore to prepare homemade jams!

The jam jar is ideally designed to preserve your homemade jams for a long time. Thanks to these containers, lovers of seasonal jams will be able to enjoy them all year round. How to make delicious jams yourself? Summer is near and you can finally enjoy some fruits: strawberries, cherries, apricots, plums, figs, peaches among others. It is now time to make your own homemade jams.

The right advice for a successful jam preparation: using a measuring jar, you need one dose of sugar for every two doses of fruit. Check the cooking especially to be able to remove the foam that will form as you go along.  It is strongly recommended to let the fruit macerate in the sugar since the day before so that the taste is even better. To bring some acidity back into your jam, add the juice of half a lemon. In your preparation include fruit juices that contain pectin (gelatine or jelly): apple, currant, blackcurrant or plum.

Why not use your glass jar as honey jar or as decorative objects?

Small glass jars with screw caps are also very practical for hermetically packaging honey. These containers are generally made of non-toxic quality glass that allows for safe use compare to plastic containers. The capacities and models of jam jars are ideal for storing honey.

For those who have creative ideas, when your storage jars get old, remember to use them to contribute to the decor for events such as weddings, Christmas or birthdays: candle jars, lamp, mini vases, flowerpot or cosmetic jars.

How to sterilize glass jam jars?

It is indeed a real pleasure to be able to enjoy fruit jams all year round! In order to protect them against mould and prevent them from perishing, sterilization of the jars is essential.

The process for sterilization with boiling water is as follows:

First, fill the jars with water at room temperature. Place them and their screw caps in the bottom of a large saucepan and cover them completely with water; like a water bath. After the first boil, let 10 minutes pass by. The jars and screws are now sterilized and can be placed on a clean, dry cloth. The jars must be turned over to be drained. While your utensils are drying out, you can prepare your jams in the meantime.
