Why a cast-iron mill?

Cast iron brings welcome weight that stabilises the mill during grinding, and a matte finish that resists fingerprints and marks. Compared with wood, the material has a more contemporary feel and pairs well with modern tableware in matte ceramic or stoneware. Cast iron is unfazed by light knocks, unlike a wooden body that shows them more clearly.

Why a pepper mill + salt dish rather than a pepper + salt mill duo?

How do I care for a Bali mill?

Cast iron is cleaned with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth, without detergent. The mechanism must never come into contact with water or salt: it is a dedicated dry-pepper mechanism. For the salt dish, regular wiping is enough to prevent moisture build-up.
