Riviera — Arcos

Collection distributed by AZ boutique ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 4,7/5

The Riviera collection is the classic riveted-handle range by Arcos, the Spanish cutler based in Albacete since 1734. Forged Nitrum® stainless steel blades, a black riveted handle in the traditional style: Riviera covers everyday kitchen cuts and finds its place on the professional's chopping block too.

The Riviera specificity

Riviera follows the codes of the classic kitchen knife: riveted handle, forged Nitrum® blade, restrained lines. The range stands out for its broad coverage — from paring knife to a 30 cm ham slicer — and for a white-handle variant, more unusual on the market, that brings a fresh touch into the kitchen.

  • Forged blades in nitrogen-enriched Nitrum® stainless steel
  • Black riveted handle, white-handle version available on selected references
  • Full range: paring, Santoku, bread, tomato, carving, ham

The most popular pieces in the Riviera collection

A few models account for most of the purchases on AZ boutique.

  • Riviera paring knife, 10 cm Nitrum blade: AZ boutique's best-selling Riviera piece, all-purpose for fruit and vegetables
  • Riviera paring knife, 10 cm Nitrum blade, white handle: the white-handle variant of the best-seller, same blade
  • Riviera ham knife, 30 cm Nitrum blade: long, flexible blade for fine ham slicing
  • Riviera carving knife, 20 cm Nitrum blade: mid-size format for meat and poultry
  • Riviera ham knife, 25 cm Nitrum blade: shorter ham knife variant, easier to handle
  • Riviera Santoku, 18 cm Nitrum blade: Japanese-style blade for quick prep
  • Riviera bread knife, 20 cm Nitrum blade: serrated blade for crusty breads and pastries
  • Riviera tomato knife, 13 cm Nitrum blade: small serrated blade for fruit and tomatoes

Choosing within the Riviera collection

Why is the riveted handle still a benchmark?

The riveted handle joins the blade tang to two scales with through-rivets. This historic construction offers excellent solidity and a stable balance in hand, particularly appreciated by daily cooks. Riviera follows that tradition while keeping the modern Arcos Nitrum® blade.

Which ham knife should I choose: 25 or 30 cm?

The 30 cm is the reference length for slicing a whole ham on a board or a ham stand: the blade spans the full width, allowing a thin slice in a single motion. The 25 cm is easier to handle, better suited to a smaller ham or occasional home use. Both blades are in Nitrum® steel and keep the collection's codes.

What is the difference between Riviera black and white handles?

The difference is purely visual: the same Nitrum® blade is mounted on both versions. The white handle brings a fresh touch, useful to visually distinguish two knives in the same kitchen (for instance one dedicated to fish or fruit). The black handle remains the classic reference of the range.

Are Riviera knives dishwasher-safe?

Although some Arcos product sheets indicate dishwasher compatibility, hand washing with immediate drying remains the recommended way to preserve the cutting edge and the riveted handle over time. Avoid abrasive cleaners and metal-on-metal contact in the dishwasher. Check the product sheet for the specifics of each reference.
