Ideal for blind tasting, this 32cl wine stem glass of the collection Open Up – Mikasa of Chef & Sommelier is easily recognized thanks to its purple color, characteristic of red wines from Bordeaux, which ensures a perfect opaqueness. The collection Open Up is a range of glasses with original and contemporary designs, bringing an amazing olfactory pleasure.
These glasses are meant for the tasting of any young wines (from 1 to 3 years for white wines and from 1 to 5 years for red wines). The different patterns of the collection Open Up cover the majority of grape varieties in the world. The range Open Up Spirit is made of krysta, a new high technology material created by the research center Arc International.
This material allows a great resistance to shocks, an absolute transparency of the glass as well as a perfect shine, even after 2000 cycles of industrial washings. The angular gob develops significantly the flavours. When the glass is filled until the angle and that the wine circles around the glass, the molecules break on the gob, releasing at the most the flavours of young wines. By circling around the glass, the wine really stick on the gob, offering an important contact between the glass and its content. The angle makes it so you can fill the glass with the exact quantity of wine.
